FeaturedThe cost of gastric sleeve surgery varies from person to person depending on many factors: the hospital, the surgical technique, the team's experience, the materials used and postoperative follow-up. We explain the factors that shape the price and the scope of the process in a neutral way.
Gastric SleeveThe surgical part of a laparoscopic gastric sleeve procedure takes about 1-1.5 hours on average. We explain the full timeline step by step, including preparation, anesthesia, hospital stay, and recovery.
Gastric SleeveThe risks of weight-loss stomach surgery include bleeding, infection and staple line leak in the early period, and reflux and vitamin deficiencies over the long term. In the literature, serious complication rates are reported to be low at experienced centers. We explain the risks and the precautions taken in a neutral way.
NutritionNutrition after gastric sleeve surgery is a gradual process that advances through 4 stages, from clear liquids to solid food, over roughly 6-8 weeks. We explain the diet rules for each stage, including a daily goal of 60-80 g of protein, fluid intake, and vitamin supplements.
Post-OpAfter gastric sleeve surgery, walking is the safest exercise in the early phase; over the long term, the best results come from combining 150-300 minutes of cardio per week with resistance training 2 days a week. We explain the phase-by-phase exercise plan.
Gastric SleeveEligibility for gastric sleeve surgery is decided on body mass index (BMI) rather than weight alone. Current international guidance sets the threshold at BMI 35; the BMI 30-34.9 band is assessed when metabolic disease is present. We explain what those thresholds mean in kilograms, the age question and the decision process.
Gastric SleeveRegret after gastric sleeve surgery is most often linked to a mismatch between expectations and reality, insufficient information, lack of follow-up, or difficulty adjusting to the new eating routine. We take an objective look at the factors that lead to regret and what to weigh before deciding.
Gastric BalloonThe swallowable gastric balloon is a weight-management method taken as a capsule that requires no surgery or endoscopy. Its cost varies from person to person depending on the product used, the scope of the process, and the follow-up support provided. We explain the factors that influence the price in a neutral way.
